Using Texas State University Materials Correctly in Your Marketing

Accurate marketing protects your agency as much as it protects the university. These are the practical rules for partners who promote Texas State University in their own market.

What you may say

  • That your agency is an authorised recruitment partner of Texas State University, where that is in force.
  • Published facts about the university: more than 45,000 students, over 200 degree programmes, students from 93 countries, a campus in San Marcos between Austin and San Antonio.
  • Published entry requirements and the published cost of attendance, provided you state the academic year they apply to.
  • That English pathways exist for students without a test score.

What creates problems

  • Implying you are the university. Your materials should make clear that your organisation is a recruitment partner, not the institution itself.
  • Guaranteeing outcomes — admission, scholarship amounts, visa approval or employment.
  • Quoting figures without a year. Costs and requirements are reviewed annually; an undated figure becomes wrong quickly.
  • Modifying the logo — recolouring, stretching, adding effects or placing it on a busy background.
  • Republishing photographs you did not receive from the university or licence yourself.

Where to get current assets

The partner resources page holds the current fact sheet, the agent quick guide and a logo kit. Download fresh files at the start of each recruitment cycle rather than reusing last year's deck — requirements and figures change.

A quick self-check before publishing

  1. Is every number attributed to an academic year?
  2. Does the piece state clearly who your organisation is?
  3. Are all claims things you could show a source for?
  4. Is the logo unmodified and on a clean background?

If any answer is no, fix it before publication. If you are unsure, send the draft to the International Office — a review takes a day and prevents a much slower correction later.
