Working with the TXST International Office: Who to Contact and When

Partners work best with us when they know which channel to use for which situation. This is how the International Office is set up to support agencies representing Texas State University, wherever you recruit.
What we handle
- Admissions guidance — programme suitability, entry requirements, document questions before submission.
- Case follow-up — status of a specific application, offer or I-20.
- Partner operations — contracts, commission records, marketing materials, training sessions.
- Events — joint webinars, school visits and recruitment fairs in your market.
Which channel to use
- The Agent Portal at portal.studytxst.com — the default for anything with a record attached: contracts, commission enquiries and formal requests. Everything raised there is tracked, so nothing depends on one person's inbox.
- Email to international@studytxst.com — for pre-submission document checks and general questions.
- WhatsApp for time-critical items during a visa or deadline window.
How to write a case enquiry that gets a fast answer
Include, in the first message:
- Student full name exactly as on the passport, and date of birth.
- Programme and intended intake.
- What has already been submitted, and when.
- The specific question — not "please advise", but "which document is outstanding?"
Cases that arrive with these four elements are usually resolved in one reply rather than three.
Escalation
If a case has not moved for two weeks and you have already followed up once, escalate it explicitly: mark the request as urgent in the portal and state the deadline at risk. Escalation is not a complaint — it is how we prioritise when a visa appointment or an intake date is in play.
What we ask from partners
- Accurate, transparent counselling — the student's interest first.
- Complete files rather than partial submissions.
- Use of current, approved materials in your marketing.
- Early warning when a student's circumstances change.
